OUR HISTORY

We opened the doors to Café Ventoux on 4th July 2015 with a clear mission to provide a warm welcome to all cyclists looking for great coffee and a hearty refuel.

Who could have predicted the overwhelming popularity we have enjoyed since then? Greeting cyclists from all around the world, of all standards, from beginners to Olympic champions, from pro teams on training rides to 9 year olds raising money for charity.

We have played host to literally thousands of riders who all have their own reasons for getting on a bike and exploring the glorious rolling countryside on our doorstep.

We have taken great joy in replenishing them all with flat whites, milk shakes, bacon sandwiches, big breakfasts and of course plenty of delicious cake!

We have hosted multiple charity fund raising rides including those for LOROS and Pancreatic Cancer research; patched up the fallen and driven them home; dragged cars out of the snow; hosted birthday parties, christenings and life celebrations; survived the COVID years; relocated to a bigger premises; won awards and now we have Giant Bicycles located next door to us. A lot has happened in 10 yrs!

Not just for cyclists, we wouldn’t still be here today if it weren’t for the devotion of of our local customers who have supported us since day one. The community we are here to serve. The evolution of our offering now includes our very popular tasting menu nights in addition to hosting private parties and a bbq outside all summer long. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to our success.

We are so proud to still be here after 10 years and we have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for. So we plan to do that on Saturday 5th July 2025. With an all day bbq with music, there will be something for all the family to enjoy.

The 4Ed Foundation has been established by former professional rugby player Ed Slater, with the vision of creating an inclusive community for families impacted by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Recognising the unique challenges MND presents, the foundation aims to provide vital resources and support to enhance the quality of life for those affected.

The core purpose of 4Ed is to ease the financial burden on families by raising money to award grants that offer financial assistance and practical support. Through its compassionate approach, the foundation prioritises empathy and understanding, ensuring that every family feels seen and heard as they navigate the difficulties of the disease.
